I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years in the mental health field. I have experience caring for individuals with mental health disorders in multiple settings including hospital in-patient units, home-based care, outpatient mental health clinics and intense community health programs.
I received both my nursing degree and advanced practice degree from University of Maryland, School of Nursing. I have since worked for the University of Maryland Medical System on one of their inpatient psychiatric units. I have worked as a delegating nurse, clinical instructor and research assistant. I was the treating psychiatric nurse practitioner on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team based in Baltimore City and served on a capitation team through Sheppard Pratt.
I am proficient in treating adults with Depression, Bipolar Disorders, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Co-Morbid Substance Abuse, OCD, and Anxiety Disorders. However, my expertise is in managing complex cases that involve co-morbid disorders such as complex medical problems, developmental disorders, intellectual disorders, brain injury and substance use disorders. I also specialize in managing individuals with forensic involvement and those experiencing their first psychotic break.
I provide integrative and comprehensive mental health care utilizing innovative medication delivery systems (including medicinal marijuana), groundbreaking new medications and novel individualized interventions. If you are not interested in medication management, I am also proficient in completing thorough psychiatric evaluations that may be required by third parties.
