I thoroughly enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults. When working with you, I begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. I then provide a written report detailing the diagnoses and treatment recommendations. I believe that treatment for children and youth should occur in the context of the family; I will often work with parents, helping coach the parents on how to work “in the moment” at home in managing their child’s presenting concerns. I believe that change does not occur solely in my office, and that it requires commitment and practice outside of appointments. I will do my best to support you and/or your child outside of sessions via use of books, worksheets, websites, and other relevant community resources to be used in conjunction with our face-to-face work. My goal is to help you and your family achieve the best possible outcomes.
I am a double board certified psychiatrist with experience treating child, adolescent, and adult patients. I graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I completed my Adult Psychiatry residency training at the San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Rehabilitation Services Training Program in San Mateo, California. This was followed by completing the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. My experience spans medication management, individual and parent-focused therapy, and work in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient practices at Seattle Children's Hospital, work with native Alaskans in a residential setting, outpatient consultation to primary care providers in the states of Washington and Wyoming, comprehensive evaluations of patients in the Wyoming DFS system, consultations to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential treatment setting, telepsychiatry work, academic psychiatry, and supervision of mid-level providers.
My private practice includes consultation evaluations, therapy, and medication management. I have experience working with patients whose diagnoses include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, disruptive behavior disorders, substance abuse or dependence, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. As a Child & Adolescent psychiatrist, my practice is focused on helping patients younger than 30 years old. My particular areas of interest include working with very young children (ages 0-5) & their parents, cognitively atypical (gifted or twice-exceptional), anxiety, disruptive behavior disorders, and ADHD.
