Dr. O'Neil is a psychiatrist in private practice in Newton, Massachusetts. She treats adolescents and adults with a number of different diagnoses including eating disorders, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders and relationship difficulties. Dr. O'Neil provides consultation, diagnostic evaluations and ongoing care (psychotherapy and psychopharmacology) to teens and adults. She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), as well as mindfulness practice.
She will also meet with friends and loved ones of the person seeking care, when the person seeking care requests this. A person’s support network can be optimally supportive when equipped with facts, science and empathy through improved understanding.
Her newest service is coaching, support and non-judgmental education for parents who have a child/children with psychiatric illness, particularly mood, anxiety and eating disorders.
